CLUJ-NAPOCA, ROMANIA

World Bank study, 2020

Integrated solutions for improving urban comfort of large collective housing complexes built during the state socialism period.

The role of this guide is to compile and synthesize a series of contemporary concepts and trends regarding urban comfort within cities and to recommend a series of actions that can be implemented in organized neighborhoods consisting of large residential complexes built in Romania between 1960 and 1989. The ultimate goal is to improve the quality of life and raise the standard of living in these areas, which constitute significant portions of major cities across Romania.
The general aim of this guide is to provide a foundation for interventions aimed at urban regeneration in these areas, offering a comprehensive sustainable vision for future development possibilities. In addition to establishing short-term actions and outcomes, it particularly emphasizes the creation of built environments within the city that remain relevant in the medium and long term.
